Siobhan O’Neill working with Camps Hill School
 The project began with Siobhan working with Year 1
children at Camps Hill School. The objective was to
inspire the children’s writing alongside the
introduction of The Big Write initiative. The idea was
to use music, art and drama as a way to promote
creativity in the classroom.
During the course of the project the children were
encouraged to develop their storytelling skills using
ways other than writing, and to encourage creative
storytelling as a scaffold for improving actual writing
skills.
The project proved successful and Siobhan
continued to work with the same group of children
as they moved into Year 2. In all, the project involved
two classes of children and four members of staff.
