The more time I spend in schools, working with the curriculum and with the teachers, the more hungry I am to explore how people learn. An equally important question is why people learn – what will it contribute to enriching their life?
Through my previous collaborations with other artists and art forms, I have acquired basic visual arts, drama and musical/auditory tools that I may offer to the group or to the individual child’s inner vision, thereby creating more channels for expression.
Neither the creation of a new form, or the creative process has to be an exclusively arts-based experience - and it needn’t be a mystifying, non-practical experience either. When the partnership between the artist’s and the teacher’s skills and knowledge is one balanced with mutual understanding and awareness of the experience of each person, something new has been created. Two worlds have come together and a new process is formed.
