Fran Wilde is an artist and arts educator. She works part time as Education and
Outreach Officer at Focal Point Galley in Southend-on-Sea. She is also a facilitator
for the National Portrait Gallery and is an Eastern Region Rep for engage, the
National Association for Gallery Education.
Fran’s freelance work as an arts educator, arts project co-ordinator and evaluator
spans 20 years. It has taken her into schools across Essex and east London.
She was Lead Tutor on Essex County Council’s Artists in Education course, run by
Essex County Council, and guest tutor on APU’s Arts Management MA.
As an artist, Fran works as an etcher and drawer. Exhibitions in 2007 include
group shows in Massey, France; Art House, Chelmsford; and ‘Caught in the Act’,
the results of a collaborative investigation into drawing around Chelmsford’s
West End with Gordon Flemmons. Fran is currently on the steering group of
Essex County Council’s strategy to support visual artists.
