Introduction

During Creativity for Life, Corali worked with three groups within
Greenside School. Greenside is a special school in Stevenage for
children from early years up to 19 years old who have severe or
profound learning difficulties. All three groups have explored ideas
surrounding the themes “Transition and Communication”. However,
since all three groups have varied in terms of both age and ability, the
content of delivery has been very different.

Each project has begun with workshops, introducing the students
to Corali’s ways of working and also to basic ideas of creative dance
and movement. Corali uses a combination of dance, visual art and
theatre. This suits the creative and expressive nature of many people
with learning difficulties, and its combined arts approach means that
everyone can play to their own particular strengths and enjoyments.
All workshops have been delivered by Corali and by educationalists
DJ, Bridget and Tanja. Corali always works in team of three, comprising
one learning-disabled and two non-learning-disabled educationalists.
