Miriam Lynn

Theatre Artist

Miriam has worked for Theatre Resource for eight years, both as project manager and artist, on a number of projects and programmes as well as producing the company’s touring theatre. She specialises in the interconnection between the arts and social care, and her work includes facilitating high-quality artistic experiences. Recently she has produced a national tour of ’Conquest to the South Pole’ and has created a large interactive mutli-sensory marquee with story-tellers, digital artists and musicians working with a special school in Basildon.

Theatre Resource

Theatre Resource is a dynamic and forward-looking professional arts organisation, specialising in the area of disability arts and social inclusion. Its work promotes the creativity, culture and heritage of disabled people and socially excluded groups, for the benefit of all.
Its work generates ‘pathways’ within the arts:
• Stimulating high-quality, diverse and experimental arts work
• Providing lifelong learning, training and employment opportunities
• Creating platforms for the exploration and representation of the cultures and neglected histories of excluded groups
• Initiating informed debate and influencing policy-making
• Fostering enabling environments
• Advancing inclusion, accessibility and equality in the wider arts environment, and in the communities in which we live.
In support of their work, Theatre Resource manages a large, multi-purpose arts education centre in Chipping Ongar, Essex, from which they develop a strategic programme of outreach and centre-based projects with a local, regional and national focus, including: -
• Participatory arts projects
• CPD (Continuing Professional Development), training and supported employment opportunities
• Professional arts products (e.g. theatre performances, exhibitions, publications, etc.)
• Dissemination and networking initiatives.
The work brings together artists, arts organisations, community groups, health and social care providers and a wide range of funding bodies.
