Steve Rogers

Painter Sculptor & Creative Practitioner

Steve graduated from the University of Hertfordhire in June 2005 with a BA in Fine Arts (First Class Honours).  In September 2005 he became the Digswell Fellow, with a studio at The Forge, Digswell, Welwyn Garden City AL6 0BU. 
Steve is a painter and sculptor with works in private and public collections including County Hall, the University of Hertfordshire and Beales Hotel.  His exhibitions include Margaret Harvey (prize winner), Open Studios.  His most recent work has mainly been painting to commission.
Steve’skills include painting (mainly acrylic), drawing, construction and fabrication in wood, stone carving and set design and construction, as well as digital image manipulation (Photoshop) and printing (etching, linocuts and monoprints). 
Steve’s work with children and young people includes workshops in Primary and Secondary schools in Hertfordshire since 2001, Artscool! Tutor (summer school run by University of Hertfordshire), Kaleidoscope (Welwyn Diversity Festival) and Creativity for Life (Essex schools).
Examples of his work with schools and children include: the stage set for Midsummer Night’s Dream and several pantomimes, Shadow Puppets (Arts Council interest), reverse painting on acrylic sheets, butterflies in clay and plaster, construction in card and rolled up newspaper.as well as “Everyone can Draw”, a project involving printing using vinegar painting.
