Curriculum

"The excellent new curriculum captures pupils' interests extremely well so that they have a lot of fun, both in the Foundation Stage and in Key Stage One."
Ofsted 2007

Our ethos at Woolenwick Infant School is to provide a stimulating learning environment, a creative curriculum and a skills-based approach for all our learners. The children learn through cross-curricular topics based on first hand experiences, participating in a wide range of activities and educational visits.

Our nature trail

We are creating a Nature Trail through our varied grounds. The trail passes through a spinney and past a meadow with a pond and a bird hide. Via a bridge, it then travels through more woodland, past another meadow and a bog garden, before crossing over a stile, along a field and then into the Habitats Trail.
This now includes habitats for wildlife and some for little humans to explore. such as an igloo made from 1050 plastic bottles, as well as living willow structures (a 12ft long tunnel and a 7ft diameter dome).
