Meera’s work with Woolenwick concentrated specifically on aspects of literacy, including punctuation, narration, communication, description and meaning, as her project titles: ‘I travelled to…’, ‘Sending messages’ and ‘Playful punctuation’ strongly indicate.

She started the project with an INSET day for teachers, using a technique whereby participants build up a highly visual story book about their own life, using significant objects and words and creating a very beautiful end result.

For each of her projects with the children, she has produced downloadable worksheets that teachers could use to run their own projects, with or without an artist. There are also two picture galleries of some of the enchanting and thought-provoking work created by the children.
