Project 3: Playful punctuation

For her final term with Woolenwick Junior, Meera focussed on punctuation with a creative and humorous approach, concentrating on introducing five key punctuation marks. Again, she worked with two Year 5 classes, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, so that both classes covered the same ground.

Pupils constructed a 3D model box of a miniature setting using a given plastic animal. They then wrote a short story based on their scene. They used punctuation marks to structure and organise their piece of writing. They then continued to plan and think in their sketchbooks, which were started last term. They photographed their models and typed up their story.
