Project 1:
Teachers’ INSET day

This INSET day used book-making to cover many of the issues, ideas and techniques that Meera, and the lead teacher, Elizabeth, would be using with the children.

It also enabled teachers to supply ideas of their own and to release some of their own creative energy, to producing a beautiful end result.

Books were created on a folded card base, using some of the same themes as Meera’s Project 2 (‘I travelled to’) to explore themes of identity.

The books were created using pictures and materials chosen by the teachers.
In some cases teachers had brought items to school specially for the exercise such as photos of people, animals or places.

Sharing the results of the books was a learning experience about each other and about the process they had undertaken. Click here to view some more of the teachers’ books.
